Halving Support Costs Across 150 Buildings Without Losing Security Posture
A 300-acre business park with over 150 buildings cut year-over-year support contract costs by more than 50% while holding its full security posture and network performance.
Client: a not-for-profit corporation managing a 300-acre business development park
The challenge
The organisation is the real estate developer and property manager for a nationally recognised 300-acre business park — over 150 buildings, home to roughly 1,500 businesses employing more than 13,000 people, operated on behalf of the city.
A campus that size, still expanding, needs a partner it can consult before any technology change rather than after — and it came under real pressure to bring technology support costs down without giving up performance or security.
Cutting cost by reducing coverage was not an option: the campus carries tenants whose own operations depend on it.
What we did
BlackHawk Data delivered full-stack managed services across every application, server and device on the campus, replacing a fragmented support model with a single accountable one.
The organisation became an early pilot customer for OneVision, BlackHawk Data’s single reporting platform, giving it one view of an estate that had previously been reported on in pieces.
Alongside continuous voice and networking modernization and lifecycle management, the team consolidated vendors and renegotiated contracts — which is where the cost came out, rather than out of coverage.
Outcomes
- 50%+ — reduction in year-over-year support contract costs
- Maintained — full cybersecurity posture and network performance through the cuts
- 150+ — buildings under full-stack managed services
- 13,000+ — people working across the businesses on the campus
