Celebrating Women’s Impact and the Power of Mentorship

Women’s History Month is a time to reflect on the impact of women who have shaped industries, broken barriers, and paved the way for future generations. This year’s theme, “Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations,” highlights the power of mentorship, collaboration, and leadership.

As a woman in IT, I’ve seen firsthand how important it is to support and uplift others. My journey in this industry was not a traditional one—I always say that IT found me, and I’m so glad it did. Building a career in technology has been both rewarding and challenging, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities to pay it forward.

Carving My Own Path

When I first entered the IT space, there were very few women in the field. I didn’t have many mentors to guide me, so I had to navigate my own way. Finding my voice and advocating for myself became essential. I learned to create opportunities where none existed, proving that resilience and determination can shape the course of a career.

Advice for Aspiring Female IT Leaders

To women looking to grow and lead in IT, my biggest advice is to build your network and establish your brand. Surround yourself with a strong support system, because success is never a solo journey. Relationships matter—my business was built on the foundation of my network, and it has been invaluable every step of the way. You never know when you’ll need that support to propel you forward.

Empowering the Next Generation

Women’s History Month reminds us that true impact is not just about individual success—it’s about bringing others along with us. We have a responsibility to mentor, educate, and create opportunities for the next generation of women in tech. By fostering inclusive environments and championing diversity, we ensure that progress doesn’t stop with us.
